Typical Troop Meeting Agenda & Office Hours Information

When We Meet.

We meet every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Arlington United Methodist Church (1820 W Arlington Rd, Bloomington, IN 47404).

Notes: The Special Meetings

Troop Committee – The first Wednesday of the month. The Troop Committee is responsible for approving finances, curriculum, and adult volunteers of the Troop. All parents are encouraged to attend and participate in the Troop Committee Meetings.

Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) – The last Wednesday of the month. The PLC is the group of youth who hold elected positions; the youth leaders of the Troop. The PLC is responsible for organizing and planning the programming for the Troop for every month.

We expect all scouts to attend meeting in proper uniform.  A uniform shirt is expected to be worn within the first month of joining the troop.  The balance is expected within the first year. A proper uniform consists of Scout shirt with appropriate insignia, Scout pants, and Scout socks.

Patches/ Insignia

The Troop keeps stock of all of the patches/ insignia and the Scout book you need for purchase. See Tara at a Wednesday night meeting to get more information. The Troop also has a uniform bank for new Scouts to purchase used uniforms. You can also go the the Bloomington Scout Shop (5625 E. State Rd 46, Bloomington, IN 47401) to purchase these items.

We have several different activities throughout each month. To sign up for these events, you will need to put the names of the individuals going on the sign up sheets. The sign up sheets are located on clipboards hung on the wall of the Moose. The dates, times, and costs are posted on each event signup sheet.

A list of upcoming activities will be discussed at the end of each meeting.  Announcements will start at approximately 8:15PM. Parents are encouraged listen to the announcements so that they are aware of what is coming up.

Meal Purchases
Scouts are responsible for planning, purchasing and cooking their own meals.  For each event the patrol will select one or two Scouts to purchase the food.  The budget for this is typically $10 per Scout. Please facilitate the Scouts buying food by helping them make the purchases.  It should be his responsibility to make sure we stay in budget.  If for any reason you are unable to make the purchases make sure your son contacts his Patrol Leader. Please submit your receipts to the treasurer for reimbursement.

Scouts are not allowed to bring any cell phones or electronics on any outing.
