Our small backpacking crew enjoyed awesome weather, georgous sights, and wonderful food at the O’Bannon Woods State Forrest this weekend. The crew arrived late Friday evening, and set out on the trail the next morning. They backapcked all day and stayed Saturday night on the trail.

The crew tried a few new meals that turned out well. Scrambled eggs boiled in a ziplock bag, cinnamon and raisin bagel with cream cheese frosting, and a loaded potato soup.

The weekend was a great opportunity for new backpackers to get aquanted with the steps and processes to breakdown and setup camp. It also challenged the crew to push themselves and step out of their comfort zone. Everyone did a great job, and we will have many great trips ahead of us as we prepare for Philmont 2019.
